From Our Sacred Nature to Wyld Belonging
The only constant in life is change. It’s something we see mirrored in the seasons, in the gentle unfolding of leaves, and in the boundless possibilities of the wild. Today, we are excited to share a change that feels as alive, organic, and necessary as the work we do: our organization, once known as Our Sacred Nature, will now be called Wyld Belonging.
This new name is more than a rebrand. It’s a reclamation, a reflection, and a celebration of the heart of our mission: creating safe, affirming, and healing connections for LGBTQIA+ people in partnership with the natural world.
Why Wyld Belonging?
“Wyld” speaks to the untamed spirit of nature and of ourselves. It embraces the unruly, resilient, and wondrous parts of our identities.
For the first two years, Our Sacred Nature has been a space for retreat, reflection, and renewal. Together, we’ve resisted the isolation and erasure often experienced by queer folks, offering a place to breathe, heal, and grow. While “sacred” reflected the reverence we hold for nature and our intention to reclaim and reframe our spirituality, we felt it was time to choose a name that more vibrantly conveys the essence of what we offer—a feeling of boldness, connection, and radical belonging.
Spelling it with a “y” is our way of expanding the word, signaling our departure from convention and celebrating the creative ways LGBTQIA+ folx have always carved out spaces to thrive.
“Belonging” is at the heart of what we do. Whether sitting under the stars with chosen family, grounding ourselves in the forest floor, or sharing stories that spark recognition and joy, we strive to foster a sense of home—for ourselves, in our bodies, and within our queer communities.
Wyld Belonging embodies the freedom, connection, and community we hope to nurture through our nature retreats.
A Name That Grows With Us
This change reflects where we’ve been and where we’re going. We’ve witnessed the transformative power of our retreats—not just as a break from daily life, but as a catalyst for deeper growth and connection. We’ve laughed, cried, and rediscovered joy together in the embrace of the wild, and we’ve learned that belonging is not just a destination but an ongoing practice.
As Wyld Belonging, we are doubling down on our commitment to creating spaces that celebrate queer lives and identities. Our name may have changed, but our dedication to offering affirming, resilient, and resisting retreats remains unwavering.
What Next?
The path forward is as open and exciting as the horizon.
In the coming months, you’ll see the new name reflected across our programs, website, and offerings. While the name is new, the heart of our work remains the same: to connect, to heal, and to belong. We will be launching opportunities to connect with one another on digital landscapes as well as planning year three of the retreat. We will be stepping up our fundraising efforts and looking into the process of becoming a nonprofit.
For now, here’s a reminder of one place where you can already connect with us and one another online.
We have a Group set up on Facebook just for folx who have been to or are hoping to attend a retreat.

We are also working to launch a refreshed website with a private social hub and look forward to sharing it with you soon.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Here’s to the beauty of change, the strength of community, and the courage to belong.
With gratitude and love,
Hazel
